We are thankful you can worship with us this morning. Today we welcome Dennis Martin of Mitchell who will be leading our morning service. There will not be an evening worship service due to Baccalaureate in Stickney at 7 p.m. PRAYER NEEDS: Please remember Mary Lou Bruinsma and her family as she continues chemotherapy treatment for recurrence of cancer in her lungs and liver. MINISTRY OF MUSIC: Thank you, Bud, for providing the special number this morning. Those in charge of the ministry of music in upcoming weeks are:
* There will be no SR RCYF Sunday evening due to the Baccalaureate service in Stickney. Kids, please turn your Dakota Tom sheets into Cheryl by Monday, May 5. * Today is the last day to order Dakota Tom sandwiches. Please contact one of the SR RCYF members or Curt and Cheryl if you would like to purchase any. Sandwiches will be delivered Wednesday, May 14. * A consistory meeting will be held on Monday, May 5, at 8 p.m. * Hope Circle will be held on Wednesday, May 7 at 8 p.m. Linda is in charge of Lesson 5, “Hannah – Loving God Despite the Pain.” Karen is the hostess. * During the month of May Pastor Sapp will be leading Sunday evening worship services on May 11 and May 18. * Weekly prayer meetings are held every Wednesday evening at 8 p.m. in the fellowship hall. * United Blood Services is responsible for providing blood to several area hospitals. Currently 184 pints are needed every day! Please support the community blood program by donating on Monday, May 5, from 11:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Stickney Community Building. The goal for this drive is to collect 33 pints of blood. * Please look on the back of the bulletin for a listing of new books in the library. * Congratulations to our graduates: From high school, Jeremy Wolbrink; from 8th grade, Thea DeWaard, Naomi Eilert, and Kaitlyn Overweg. * A Mother-Daughter Luncheon will be held at the United Methodist Church in Stickney on Wednesday, May 7 at 7:30 p.m. Guest speaker will be Marlene Slothouber of Sioux Falls who will give an inspirational speech and pottery demonstration. A luncheon will follow the program. No registration is required. * Coming soon to a theater near you: EXPELLED starring Ben Stein. This movie is highly recommended by Ken Ham, president of Answers in Genesis. This movie can launch a major debate in the public square, and lead to legislation that will allow students to learn about the “holes” in Darwin’s theory, and alternative scientific theories on the origins of life.
